Letter from the National Director
~ David Wataba

Mobile phones, the internet, the, TV and Radio broadcast and social media to name but a few, have laid the main infrastructure to reach the last, the least, the lost and the hidden.

Warm greetings, in the matchless name of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ!

We are living in exciting and yet challenging days! Exciting because there is an unprecedented hunger for God and the powerful move of the Holy Spirit, which positions our generation to see the fulfilment of the Great Commission. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) have the capacity to make the goal a reality having presented the prospect of reaching everyone everywhere. Mobile phones, the internet, the, TV and Radio broadcast and social media to name but a few, have laid the main infrastructure to reach the last, the least, the lost and the hidden. Singling out social media alone, a quick and popular knowledge source has rapidly emerged with negatively addictive effects if users lack self-control. On the other hand, there are great benefits that the body of Christ must exploit out of social media. With it, news can spread like a wildfire, it goes viral. What if we harnessed all these ICT resources for the Great Commission?!

Yet we are living in challenging days too. The growth of radicalism and extremism, the African Renaissance with a return to ancestral worship, the pervasiveness of secularism and the invasion of oriental gods are threatening the very existence of the Church. Unfortunately, this is happening at a time when to many believers the Great Commission has become the great omission. How do we respond to these challenges? We should respond with resolute faith because Jesus Christ said, “… I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (Hell) shall not prevail against it.” Matt. 16:18.

On this website platform and other publications, we are excited to share with you what the Lord is doing in and through LIFE Ministry Uganda, as we step out by faith taking advantage of the opportunities while addressing the challenges. We match forward this year 2020 with the theme; “Arise, get empowered and be fruitful” coming from Gen 35:1-15. Just like Jacob and his household, we the LIFE Ministry Uganda family would like to live in the presence of God and hear His voice continually.
All the information and updates you are reading here and elsewhere, are a result of a strategic focus on People; our members of Board of Directors, staff, partners and stakeholders, the Movement; movements everywhere so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus Christ and Systems; to ensure good governance, accountability and effective stewardship of resources entrusted to our care. All what we are doing is undergirded by earnest prayers and a total dependence upon God.
Sarah and I would have struggled greatly had it not been for the invaluable support, encouragement and prayers of the board of directors of LIFE Ministry Uganda under the able leadership of Pr. Joshua Mugabi. This dynamic and diverse team of critical thinkers and shepherding leaders is pushing us to levels we had never reached before.
We are eternally grateful to the National Leadership Team (NLT), with whom we lead the ministry, for their full support as helping me settle in as a new National Director. Bravo to the strong, enthusiastic and frontline team of staff, volunteers and marketplace leaders who have given their whole, for the fulfilment of the Great Commission! Like the Psalmist wrote in Ps. 133, we are experiencing the pleasantness of brethren living together in harmony!!!
Last but not the least, we appreciate you heartily for your invaluable and sacrificial contribution of L.I.F.E (Leadership, Influence, Finances and Expertise) for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Without you, we have no wheels to go and make disciples. With you and Jesus on our side, we are a winning team.

In these exciting days, the challenges notwithstanding, we should not be bystanders or spectators, nor should we count days with our accomplishments. On the contrary, we should make every day count, living with an eternal perspective, investing in eternal causes, “… where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.” Matt. 6:19-21.

May the Lord bless you abundantly!
