About LIFE Ministry Uganda

LIFE Ministry Uganda is a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ International (CCCI). The Late Bill and Vonnette Bright founded CCCI in the U.S in 1951. Mr. Sam and Mrs. Lynn Owen started LIFE Ministry Uganda in 1971. Our Calling is to help fulfil the Great Commission by winning, building and sending in the power of the Holy Spirit and helping the body of Christ do evangelism and discipleship.

Warm greetings in the matchless name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! These are exciting and yet challenging days! Exciting because there is an unprecedented hunger for God and a powerful move of the Holy Spirit, which could make our generation see the fulfilment of the Great Commission. Information and communication technology (ICT) have made it possible for the gospel to go to everyone everywhere. This digital age has made it possible for us to take the gospel to the living rooms of those whom we would not have ordinarily seen in a Sunday service. What if we harnessed all these ICT resources for the Great Commission...

Our History

As a student at Fuller Theological Seminary, studying late one night for a Greek exam, Bill Bright receives a unique impression from God to invest his life in helping reach the entire world, starting with college students. A professor friend suggests “Campus Crusade for Christ” as the name of the new ministry. In the fall, Bill and his wife, Vonette, start Campus Crusade (now known as Cru in the U.S.) at UCLA with the backing of a 24-hour prayer chain.
