In the Northern Region, our ministry efforts are centered on advancing the mission of evangelism and discipleship through strategic tools and initiatives. We are committed to transforming lives with the message of Jesus, equipping leaders, and planting churches that will impact their communities for Christ. This region encompasses a large geographical area, including key districts such as Gulu, Lira, Kitgum, Pader, Apac, Oyam, and Amuru. Our ministry work here is tailored to meet the unique challenges faced by these communities, many of which are still recovering from past conflicts.
Our work spans several key strategies:
We utilize the Jesus Film Project as a powerful tool to share the Gospel with unreached people groups. Through mobile screenings and film shows in various districts, we are reaching both rural and urban communities, bringing the life of Christ to people in a visual and compelling way. Local church leaders and volunteers are equipped to use the Jesus Film App and related resources for personal evangelism and discipleship. This has allowed us to reach more people who may not have had prior exposure to the Gospel.
Training is a core focus in this region. We conduct New Life Training Curriculum to equip and mentor emerging Christian leaders. These leaders are then empowered to disciple others in their communities, facilitating a multiplication effect in spreading the Gospel. Through this program, people are trained in how to do evangelism and discipleship effectively.
Additionally, we carry out community outreach programs in areas where the need is greatest. This includes initiatives such as making of soap, and borehole sinking and repairs in partnership with Unto especially in water-stressed regions.
Our ministry in the Northern Region also focuses on Student-Led Movements (SLM), where we engage young people in high schools, colleges, and universities with leadership training, discipleship, and outreach programs. We are working to mentor the next generation of Christian leaders by guiding students to grow in their faith and become ambassadors of Christ in their educational institutions and communities.
