My name is Kyotabona Francis. An adult male married to Grace Kyotabona, with two children, a boy and a girl who are young adults now. I am a Christian and I received Christ on 2nd May 1987. I am a teacher now serving with LIFE Ministry Uganda as a missionary. I enjoy teaching and love singing and adventuring. I have been in leadership for LIFE Ministry Uganda for more than twenty years and currently giving leadership to Mid-Western Region in Uganda. .
I was born in a polygamous family that was characterized by jealousy, hatred, witchcraft and strife to mention but a few. Though I went to church, it was just a fashion. Deep in me was great animosity against others in the family. I craved new experiences and sensations. I soon opened up my life to immorality and drunkenness to make myself happy but ended up even more frustrated.
One day as I walked along a certain road, I met a friend who had identified with me and shared in my ways. I had actually thought, if I was that bad, he was worse. To my surprise when I met him, he was decent, gentle and attractive. Immediately as we drew close he noticed my surprise and called to me saying, “I know why you look surprised”. He narrated how he had received Christ and how Christ had changed his life. I thought to myself, if this Jesus could change a person I knew so well, surely he could change me too. As Luke 18:27 says, “What is impossible with man is possible with God”. That day, 2nd May 1987, I prayed to receive Christ in my life.
Shortly later, I met a lady who bought me a Bible and helped me in my walk with Christ. She led me to friends who were believers and later to fellowship at church. When I later joined campus, I met staff of LIFE Ministry at Makerere University who introduced me to “TNT classes” (Teaching and training). I was later introduced to the New Life Training at LIFE Ministry offices in Kololo, where I was equipped to share my faith. This increased my excitement in serving God and I was later to see myself through the GCTC (Great Commission Training Center) and ultimately joining staff as a missionary in 1987 by grace.
